Very informative and interesting. I heard the first English speaker for now. The swami was objecting to some of the talk; there can be a discussion and debate format next time.

Couple of assertions stood out:

1. Mind is jada, intelligence is jada. Hence can be artificially created.

2. At end, he says the question of whether we can entirely replicate the mind's functionality through silicon engineering should be left open.

That essentially would amount to the creation of a 1-life human artificial jivatma, right?

Anycase, can listen to ending part of his talk after hour 1:01 for above.

Likely this is from youtube's AI flagging them for talking too much on AI: machine determining and man following. I don't see why RKM will make the video private.

2:27:30: Swami referring to someone's claim, "With drugs even higher states of consciousness can be induced ... samadhi can be induced through drugs, that's what he says ..."

2:31:00 This swami who speaks from computer science background compares and distinguishes the viewpoints of computer science vs Vedanta.

3:00:00 the shankaracharya talks in Sanskrit. Can Subbu-ji or someone give the essential translation? I think he emphasizes that the "san" path shown in Upanishads to "Consciousness" is neti-neti (not AI?), and this is to be followed.

Dear Putran ji,

Yes, Swamiji alludes to the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad and the Bhashyam, which discuss Chaitanyam and how it can't be pointed out, like saying, 'this is a cow.' The only method, therefore, is 'neti neti'—excluding everything that is not Chaitanyam. 

Then he dwells upon how Shankara incorporated this method alone in many of his other texts like Dashashloki and Ekashloki. 

Swamiji says: If science can arrive at the existence of Chaitanyam through computers and AI, the great benefit would be also that all who consider science the leading domain would walk the path of righteousness.  He bases this on the Taittiriya statement: "asan eva sa bhavati, asad brahmeti veda chet."  He who denies God/Ishwara/Chaitanyam, himself becomes non-existent, in the sense that he does not follow the path of purushartha. Conversely, if one accepts Chaitanyam, they attain the supreme. 

Swamiji is very positive and open to the role of Science and AI in arriving at the existence of Consciousness.
