The following short article, in Kannada, highlights a few verses from Shankara's work.  It is noteworthy that a verse says: Shuka, etc. were freed from any kind of bondage by Shiva's grace.  We have the shuka rahasya upanishad in this regard, the link of which is provided below. This Upanishad is also famous and doctrinally important  tp Advaita since the passage:

teaching that both Ishwara and jiva are products of upadhi.  There are many other Advaita-friendly concepts in this Upanishad.

Shiva alone is the Guru and the Guru himself is Shiva.  The aspirant aught not to perceive difference between the two.

The Guru praises the disciple for having taken to the path of Atma vidya. He says: You have been graced by Shiva and hence alone you have chosen this path having renounced he worldly accomplishments.

Without Shiva's grace the following are impossible to get:  Siddhi: the fruition of our endeavor. Buddhi: the right intellect to tread this path. Yukti: the proper reasoning for advancing in this path. Mukti: liberation.

It is by striving over several births does one get the grace of Shiva by whose intervention Shuka, etc. became liberated. By devotion to Shiva alone one can get liberated.

The Sukha episode is in this shuka rahasya upanishad.

regards
subbu
