Hello Friends,
What I gather from the Hindu Succession Act, Tribals are not Hindus as per section 2, But mostly wrongly incorporated in the caste certificate religion as Hindus which is a violation of the act. The link of the Act has been attached for perusal and spreading the information.
Proud Being Tribal !

That's right, it all depends on who writes whose history. in the coming years we have to take up this search for identity very seriously.

very true but our culture is influenced by hindu culture as we are surrounded by them. secondly there is practice of writing religion hindu (instead of leaving blank) in the admission form when a child goes to school first time unless it is mentioned by parents if they are educated.

Yes, we have to understand the process of assimilation of Adiwasis into hindu religion. Most of the time adiwasis are recognized as 'backward hindu'in hindu religion. At the other side there are nothing about adiwasi in ancient hindu caste system. (Brahman, kshatriya, vaishya, shudra, ati shudra). It is the macro level hindu facist policy to bring down adivasi into hindu religion for maximise numbers of hindus (8% adivasi population). At other side, hindus are not easily accepting adiwasis as mainstream... they always defined us as 'backward' and then hindu. Actually 'ANIMISM' is religion of our adiwasi I.e. praying/worshipping nature (not any statue). We don't have that option in our day to day life. We can say it will be a mere word but for hindus it is word and tool of suppression and dominance over adivasi. Today our socialization done under influence of hindu religion, because of that we might not seen difference between hindu and adivasi practices. Now, We have big challenge to keep adivasi religion live by intellectual way through imposing our stand in existing society.

Good to see replies. Should not we be thinking about what needs to be done to avoid violation of the aforesaid Act. Following are few suggestions.
1) Spreading the message is the MOST important aspect.
2) Henceforth, while filling up application form online/offline, always "OTHERS" in the category of religion and then write as Cult Tribe/Tribe name.
3) Where someone opts for "Tribe Certificates", religion is to be written as mentioned above.
4) Wherever no such option is given then it is our duty to ask for such options in the application form.
Cult tribe is the identity like Bhils/Gonds/Santhals/Mundas/etc..., but all are aboriginals having different names but similarity with respect to definition as given in the constitution.
What are your views??

good suggestions, above mentioned suggestions are applicable for those of us belong to the last one or two generations. I mean those of us are educated or in the process. but our religion is preserved by and  if it has to be in the future, it has to be preserved by the simple tribal who are not educated, and thus handed down to us by them:  these simple people form the tribal popular religiosity. "popular religiosity".  this tribal popular religiocity is attacked by various forces. (Hindu & christian fundamentalism). this would be main area of awareness and a challenge before us in the recent future of our tribal existence.
