Hello there

Firstly, thank you so much for making this!

I've installed it for my son, who is completely blind, and spends all his free time making EDM tunes on Logic. I got him a Numark MixTrack Platinum FX DJ controller for Christmas, and I've managed to get your plugin to work with the VDJ software.

The only thing I can't workout how to do is get the voiceover audio to come through the headphone output, rather than the master/speakers output. He wants to be able to perform with his DJ controller without the voiceover commands coming out of the speakers...

If anyone can help me that would be amazing. Thank you!

Ed

Hey there,  This has not something to do with vdj! This you must manage within your sound settings of the screenreader and your mac. When this Numark controller has a multichannel soundcard, this would not be any problem, you would be able to route the speech to the headphone channel.

Hi, you are probably trying to make the VO go through the controller's external outputs. In controllers, the headphone output is most often programmed as channels 3 and 4. Unfortunately, you can not redirect the screen reader to channels 3 and 4, any audio card. Therefore, you must connect headphones directly to the computer, and then select the computer's audio card in the audio settings for headphones. Also change the screen reader output to the audio card built into the computer. Only select the master as the output of the numark controller. Then speech and eavesdropping should go to the headphones connected in the computer, and the main music output for the audience (master) should be routed through the numark controller, or any other audio card.
If on macOS it is possible to redirect the VO to channels 3 and 4 of the audio card then there is a chance that you can have a screen reader on the headphone output of the numark controller. However, I doubt this is possible, and you'll have to use the method described above, which is headphones and screen reader audio routed to channels 1 and 2 of a different audio card than the music master greeter.

hello.
if you’re talking about the vdj speech it doesn’t use voiceover. it uses the internal speech. the only way to set that on the headphones is to set the default output to the headphone output in the system settings, or you could do it from the sound source app if you have it.
