Hello Everyone,
Sadly, the Virginia Tech Criterium weekend will not be happening due to insurance challenges. If you have already made travel plans, I am sorry for the inconvenience. On a lighter note, we have learned from these challenges and already have plans to host a better event in 2026. Good luck to everyone racing NC State!

Best,

Hi All:  Below is a message that went out to USAC collegiate conference directors today.  Feel free to reach out to me directly with questions, ideas, or your digital kit design for inclusion in MyWhoosh (which makes nice marketing tool too!)

———————

Greetings USAC Collegiate Cycling Conference Directors:

We’ve been making some strides in creating competitive virtual cycling options for collegiate riders via work we’ve done with the Cyclone Racing League (www.cycloneracingleague.org).  Our initial emphasis was on knocking down a few barriers to entry for new programs by leveraging virtual technologies, but now we want to expand these options for all collegiate programs.   Key program specs to date:

  • Based on the free MyWhoosh platform
  • 5 event weekday evening series, one for the Spring semester and one for the Fall semester
  • Individual & team scoring for each event and for the entire series
  • Participating team kits in game (several are already in)
  • 30 to 60 minute races on various courses
  • Inclusion of alumni categories (Why? Alumni riders provide a solid funding channel for programs that may be struggling financially otherwise.)
  • Several sponsors already on board for prizes, SWAG, & more
  • No fees for collegiate riders (We’re hoping these events can be USAC sanctioned without fees as well, but we’re in the process of engaging USAC to confirm.)
  • Fall ’25 launch but note, currently we have 5 more group rides set up on Tuesday evenings 7 pm Eastern (the next one on 3/11) for those that want to test out the MyWhoosh platform, see a few kits in game, etc.  Simply search in MyWhoosh events for “RevoRace-CRL”.

It should be a lot of fun and provide a nice training/racing option for many riders. Based on our experience, this approach will enhance recruiting efforts and better enable you to engage your alumni and campus communities.  You may already have spin class participants on campus ready to jump in!

Please share with your member schools and reach out with any questions or to work on getting your kit in game.

Best Regards,

Mark Janas
