This may be an obvious question, but is it possible to put a relative path into the 'Path' argument  of a UDT, so it always points to the instance that is currently open?

All ToDoList UDTs run a new instance which then looks for an existing instance to connect to, or opens a new instance if none is found.

Can you explain what specific problem you are having or trying to solve?

I currently am putting in the tool path as so:

i.e. an absolute path.

I still upgrade via downloading the new version, unpacking it, copying the .ini from the previous version, etc, etc..  I do this because I can't upgrade directly due to IT policy.

However, the tool path now points to the previous version.  Is there a way of making the path relative, so it always points to the new TDL instance (which in my case is in the same directory as the .ini file)?

In that case, just use 'ToDoList.exe'.

Thanks Dan.

I figured it might be simple.  However, if multiple instances is enabled, you get this:

While I think of it, it would be great to get a relative path for the Icon field as well.

That's right, specifying just 'ToDoList.exe' still runs a new instance.

Just include $(filepath) as an argument to specify the active tasklist.
