On the occasion of my name day (26 October; in Greece regarded more important than birthday–and celebrated accordingly), please accept my small gift, the third edition of my book:
Stochastics of Hydroclimatic Extremes – A Cool Look at Risk, Edition 3, ISBN: 978-618-85370-0-2, xxx + 391 pages, Kallipos Open Academic Editions, Athens, 2023.
It was completed and uploaded *today* in https://www.itia.ntua.gr/2000/ (download the Full text; 14375 kB; fully open access).
It contains several new things. As a single example: how to get
rid of extreme value distributions and fit the parent distribution
on block-maximum data (e.g. annual maxima), even in the presence
of long-range dependence (see section 6.21,
Genuine distribution function fitting from block-maximum data).
