I'm not the kinda guy who likes to brag. But, I killed it. I took first place by such a large margin that posting my time is merely a formality.
Predictable Urge 51:05
I didn't have a great start. Many boats were ahead of me as we approached the south start turning pin. Expletive was in the lead and headed to the next pin farther up the creek. All of the other boats followed. I saw this happen but didn't say anything at first. I waited until I was at the (correct) south start pin. By then all of the other boat have sailed way too far. Then I hailed on the radio. I said, "Hey Geiger. Isn't this the south start pin?" He looked around and said, "Oh yeah. You are correct, as always."
By then I was in the lead and was able to keep it throughout the race.
At Stan and Joe's, Peiqing chatted to me about the race. She said, "We would have done better if we didn't overshoot the south start pin. We also had trouble with the spinnaker and traps." I fully respect this thought process. I am a firm believer in making excuses when you don't win. Then she went on to say, "We held back. You sailed so poorly last time we raced. We felt sorry for you and let you win." My chin hit the floor. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Thanks Peiqing for taking it all away from me.
