I'm not the kinda guy who likes to brag. But, I killed it. I took first place by such a large margin that posting my time is merely a formality.
Predictable Urge 51:05
I didn't have a great start. Many boats were ahead of me as we approached the south start turning pin. Expletive was in the lead and headed to the next pin farther up the creek. All of the other boats followed. I saw this happen but didn't say anything at first. I waited until I was at the (correct) south start pin. By then all of the other boat have sailed way too far. Then I hailed on the radio. I said, "Hey Geiger. Isn't this the south start pin?" He looked around and said, "Oh yeah. You are correct, as always."
By then I was in the lead and was able to keep it throughout the race.
At Stan and Joe's, Peiqing chatted to me about the race. She said, "We would have done better if we didn't overshoot the south start pin. We also had trouble with the spinnaker and traps." I fully respect this thought process. I am a firm believer in making excuses when you don't win. Then she went on to say, "We held back. You sailed so poorly last time we raced. We felt sorry for you and let you win." My chin hit the floor. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Thanks Peiqing for taking it all away from me.

Bovine finally decided to hit the water this week.  Re-rigging the downhaul takeaway took about 10 times longer than it should have.  So we told the fleet to start with out us and we would go for a leisurely sail.  We ended up passing the the start line somewhere around 4 minutes late.  All the other boats were already at the south start turning mark.  We liesurly made our way up to the south start pin took a nice relaxed jibe and headed back to the start finish where we found capsized Acat.  We told Steve to keep going and made sure the Acat got sorted.  Once the Acat was back upright we continued our liesurly sail to the fish trap shoal mark.  It was not possible to make the Rhode river mark with the kite up but we were in leisure mode and decided to ride the kite for a bit then dropped the spin for a not so leisure reach to get to the mark.  At the mark we rounded not far behind Vlad and decided to tack back inside for flat water.  We were liesurly sailing along and I ask Pat how fast we were going upwind it felt slow.  Turns out we were moving at 10 knots.  We took a nice relaxed kite ride from Parrish back to Rhode and headed for home.  Patrick decided to do some pro-level not so leisure main trimming single trapped all the way back to the club where we ended up crossing the line 3rd.  It was such a leisurely cruise that we don't have a time and will take Vlads time.

Not too shabby for a nice relaxing evening cruise.

I think Bovine and Monkey Knife Fight should start 4 minutes late every week.

William Kruse,

Yes it was good meeting you.  Thanks with the help moving boats.

I could use crew on the 26th on my Inter 20 Nacra.

Hey Chris Allen,
I hope you are doing well.
17 seconds doesn’t sound like much. Guys like you and Gordon are accustomed to beating the fleet by a minute or more.
But 17 seconds doesn’t tell the whole story. Ya had to have been there. Yes, I killed it. It’s more than the 17 seconds. It’s more than the fact that Geiger led half of the fleet into disaster. It’s more than the fact that Geiger will most likely inherit a new nickname. Something like “Wrong Way John.” It’s more than all of that.
I killed it because I sailed like a king. I was in complete control of myself and others. I sailed with confidence and I looked good doing it. But I am getting close to bragging which makes me uncomfortable. Suffice to say, I killed it.
