We didn't race yesterday. The wind was too strong and flucky.
11 of us went to the bar instead.

Geiger and I met at the club a little early. I helped him replace the tires on his trailer. He was thrilled when the job was done. And rightly so. There are few things better than new tires on your trailer. But he was over the top giddy with joy. It was almost embarrassing. He went on about how smoothly the job went and how he appreciated my help. I tried to assure him that it was nothing and I was glad to help. But he wouldn’t let it go. He said that he would buy my dinner for the next 10 weeks. I told him that was not necessary. We went back and forth for a while. We compromised. He will buy my dinner for the next 5 weeks.
Sam came to the club early. He spent 2 1/2 hours rerigging some little detail thing on his boat. Even if the weather conditions were favorable for sailing, Sam was so deeply immersed in his unnecessary project that there was no way he would be able to get the boat on the water.
Vladimir and his boat were rigged and ready to go. He couldn’t understand why no one else was rigging there boats.
