Good looking line of cats in the sand.
Fun race, good stories, and our spin survived the day (barely).

I'm happy to help schlep boats out of and back into the water at Annapolis Sailing School.

Ken,

You made a good call.  It was sailable but very puffy and shifty. Windier on the transit up than back though.

Colin & Phan were first. They smoked it out of the Severn and there was no catching them.   I was 2nd about a 1/4 mile behind them.  I passed the last Chesapeake 20 at the last turning mark...

You're good to fight another day.

Good concise report - can’t wait to get the “facts” from Mr. Baker….
Congrats to Prawn, well done!

Very shifty and gusty!  A great sail though. Patrick kept us going in the right direction with nav on his watch.
Having so much fun we decided to go for a swim just before TP.  It was tough catching up after that.

Hi Pat,
Why did you put facts in quotation marks?

Eric and I looked at the forecast and decided not to sail to Annapolis. We chose to sail around for while and stay in the river. We launched Worrell Brothers around 10:00 or so. It was reachy to get to the Rhode/Parish area. We used the usual Rhode/Parish marks to practice our up wind and down wind sailing. The wind was on and off. Puffy and shifty. We really had to pay attention the whole time. During one of the more manageable down wind moments, I asked Eric if he wanted to put up the spin. He quite simply said, “No.” After a while we reached out to R2. Then back to the club.

JT hooked us up with the nice beach up there. It was pretty strong going up, I think TP said 23 gusts. A few of us had chattering teeth by the time we reached JTs beach and were spread out on warm boulders like lizards. Some were regretting not ordering some warm pizza. The bathrooms worked great. We were bummed some didn’t come up but it was totally understandable.

The wind mellowed and was near dead a little after the start. But we were warm. Then we were trapped out on the downwind and stuffed our bows and I went flying. Nothing broke and we were on our way. Then it was a decent upwind back into the river where Andy tossed us our wheels and here we are. Fun day, wish I’d taken a spray top.

Thanks for the pics. My navigator was MIA so there was fluky navigation on my part. After seeing Paul and Pat go swimming in directly in front of me, I decided not to join them and lowered my spinnaker.
It was an exhilarating race which was really fun.

Warm Regards,
Leith

Colin,

I just queried the PRO and will let you know.  I think he may be a bit tech challenged so thinking that the handwritten paper results on the club's back window may be it at the moment.  I'll let you know and try to get them online asap.

Gosh, thank you Jahn!

Wanted us cats to have the results…
Leith making the sail over and race back single handed on a Blade is gutsy.
The laser probably wants to see his name up there too.

thank you!
