New U11 girls team

Hi All,

 

As many of you know and we've discussed in the past, there is a need to develop a second team in this age group to sustain the age groups longevity in our area.  Weston and Cooper City have multiple teams in this age group and may over time swallow up this team if another one isn't developed.

 

I've been watching rec games in both Pines and Miramar and there are many athletic kids who love soccer but, cannot make a Black team today and will end up going back to rec.  If they are selected to the team, they could potentially ride the bench which isn't good for their long-term development either.  It is my sincere belief that given an opportunity and with my coaching background, they should be able to reach at or near the same level over a relatively short period of time.  

 

With this in mind, I am going to attempt to create another team but, out of the Miramar United Elite club.  The reason for Miramar is fourfold;

 

1) I can coach Katherine in Miramar but, can't at WPU.

2) The Black/Gold or A team B team concept sounds great in theory but, rarely delivers as promised.

3) There is more flexibility to be creative with the kids development.

4) I can have multiple seasons with the team to ensure its success. 

 

I have had lengthy discussions with Patrick about how to work together now and in the future.  Even done on an informal basis, I feel that we can make a two team two club concept a success.

 

I have attached a flyer for the tryouts that includes dates and times as well as my coaching background.  I have no idea how many kids will be interested in this new team so please feel free to distribute to any and all families you know that love soccer and where their kids want to become better players.

 

At some point in time, I would expect the two teams to merge.  With the athletic talent in the Pines/Miramar area and good strong development, we should be able to compete for much more than just Region and State Cups in the future.  I've been there before and it is truly rewarding for the kids.

Why you don't discuss that option with Mr Jose Garcia DOC.
If this is your plan, you might be able to be placed as the assistant coach of the Gold or red team, but that will be staying within west pines United, not under Miramar.
