IMG_0982.jpegHello

Attached please find some pictures of my console. The 12 channels are m480s so my working name for the console is WBS M480 TR1202. Am I taking too many liberties? I’ve combed the outside looking for a model identifier but no luck. Any help in identification is very much appreciated.
Please and thank you

This is an adorable console.  I have owned a few over the years, and refurbished dozens.  Shame about the one gain pot, and the missing module.

But for clarity there were only two designations for this console - T1202, and T1202A.  The T stood for transportable.  They came with Clydesdale cases, and took 2 very strong people to transport them!!

Regards,

Warren

IMG_0989.jpegIMG_0993.jpegThank you very much, Anthony and Warren(.!), your help saves me a lot of research time and I very much appreciate it.

I do have the Clydesdale case with a ‘Warren Beck’ written on the side of it. I can corroborate that it is a monster (a friendly and helpful monster, don’t get me wrong) to carry. It also came with an Elco pin connected snake and patch bay. I will try to provide pictures but this interface and my iPad don’t always cooperate…

It also came with a Lambda 48volt phantom power unit that I think was not part of the original system. It worked well enough for a while and then it stopped working. I thought i was going to get around to fixing it but so far have not yet done so as I acquired some alternative in-line phantom power units that got the job done when I needed them.

Anyways, I had great fun with it for years, but unfortunately it has sat idle for just as many if not more years and I think it’s time for me to pass it on to the next user. Any insight as to how when where and how much to sell for (or where not to as the case may be). I would love to not have to put it on Reverb. I am in the Seattle area.

I can’t remember for sure, but i think i bought it maybe 2 decades ago for $3k? I am not sure about the figure but it seems to be going for that or a lot more if somebody has decided to repackage and market it as a sexy revamped kind of thing.

Thanks again, esteemed group of special audio gear cognoscenti, especially Mr. Beck himself,

Also, I forgot to ask; so if the T stands for Transportable, I can’t help wondering what the A stands for. All help and insight is very much appreciated.
Please and thanks,

The Lambda supply was not WBS nor me.  so was its previous owner.

From whom had you acquired it?

I wish I could remember exactly who or what his name was, but I can recall that he drove down from British Columbia, probably Vancouver area, and I drove up from Seattle and met him halfway between, probably Mt Vernon area.. I will post if I can recover any more info as to seller’s identity.

Might have been Dave Thomas of Advanced Audio.

He did a tonne of WBS out on the West Coast.

I believe this to have been my console when I left the factory.  was one of two that we used for demonstrations, loaning, etc..  was there a blank panel over to the right between the faders - taking up about 3 spaces?

Warren

Probably was Dave Thomas, that makes sense and sounds familiar.

Over to the right of the faders at the bottom, there is a panel about 3 spaces wide with an enclosed red indicator light placed there that if memory serves would light up when that Lambda power supply was powered on and plugged into the 48volt input in the back of the unit.

Thank you, Warren, I had no idea I would be conversing with you this way today when i posted last night.!

Cheers,
dt

That panel was something dad put in for me for the console was in our basement, and friends and I used it regularly.  To lessen the yelling of us to mother, it was an illuminated red push button switch to give a mute to the mains/PA.

I hope it worked well for you while you had it!
