Greetings LSRs,

Happy to report that my latest paved trail Perm creation, "Dallas Trail Mix 101 km" (#5852) has been approved.  The route is 97% on paved trails.  It starts at White Rock Lake, and includes the White Rock Lake Trail, the Sopac Trail, the Ridgewood trail, the University Crossing trail, the Santa Fe Trail, the White Rock Creek Trail, and the Northaven Trail.  But NOT the Katy Trail ( very crowded and 10 mph speed limit) and NOT the Cottonwood Creek Trail (homeless issues).

The route has 13 controls (sorry, that's the best I could do and keep it all on trails) so you will probably want to plan on using a GPS recording as your proof of passage.  There are plenty of water fountains and porta potties (all included in the cue sheet and marked with POIs).  Also one control at a bike shop and another at a water/ice vending machine.  No convenience stores, so plan to carry snacks on your bike.  If you park at White Rock Lake, there is an optional stop back at your car (25.4 miles) to pick up water or food from your cooler.

Thank you, Jerry…. You are the Master for paved trail rides, and I’ve enjoyed all of your creations.

Really looking forward to this one as well.

Will this become a Pop route that we could calendar for a bigger turnout?

Thank you Jerry! White Rock is my neighborhood.

A sidenote here - parking on the east side of the lake can be risky, even during the day. There have been car break ins in the past. I have first hand experience. I have parked on the west or south side of the lake ever since without an issue.

Mike

You're welcome, Mike!  Thanks for the heads up regarding parking on the east side of the lake.  My designated parking for the route is on the west side in a lot with 48 spaces.

Best regards,
Jerry

LOVE this…out my back door, literally!  Trails I ride on all the time.  :-) Maybe I really can hit that 100km this year.

Thank you, Jerry.

Great route Jerry! Looking forward to riding it, it's been a long time since I rode at White Rock Lake (probably 7-8 years)
