More
than 2,000 South Sudanese refugees were relocated from Khor Omar to
Kario camp in Sudan’s East Darfur State, the UN refugee agency, or UNHCR
says in its latest report.
Kario camp is about 45 kilometers south of Ad Daein town.
According to the refugee agency, the new camp was identified to host the conflict affected people from Northern Bahr al Ghazal.
“The relocation will help decongest Khor Omar and ensure better
access to basic services including water, sanitation, health and other
assistance”, UN believes.
As of 31 August, the total number of South Sudanese in Sudan had exceeded 2 hundred thousand, UN reports.
