President Kiir Dismisses Loluke, Appoints New Governor In Imatong State

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday dismissed Imatong’s State Governor, Hon. Nartisio Loluke Manir and replaced him with the former Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly Speaker, Hon. Alberio Tobiolo Oromo.

There has been mixed reactions on the changes made by the President as no concrete reason was given during the announcement that was made on the South Sudan national television.

Gunshots were heard at the State Governor’s Palace, a few minutes after the announcement.Loluke's supporters have expressed disappointments, but analysts say the changes made are constitutional.
