Mayor Calling On Aid Agencies To Assist IDPs In Wau
The Mayor of Wau Municipal Council, Mel Aleu Goc has called on aid
organizations operating in the State to scale up their efforts to
distribute agricultural materials to the internally displaced persons
who have been sheltering at the ESC church compound in Wau since
January this year.

WAU, 05 May 2017 [Gurtong] - Goc made his call on Thursday in Masana
Biira where the IDPs who were sheltering at the ECS compound began to
relocate.
“Am calling upon these organizations to offer in Beer Factory which is
now a home resident to the displaced Persons who came from Wath-lelo
to distribute them with agricultural materials because these peopled o
not have hoes, these people do not have axes, these people do not have
seeds, so am asking organizations to bring seeds and other
agricultural materials to give these families. And these families each
person, we will give them a piece of land to start a cultivation steep
for gardening purposes,” said Goc.
He also called on the humanitarian aid assistance to provide the IDPs
with food ratio. Chief Aguer Keen said the IDPs are in dire need of
food assistance.
“Those who are brought here, they do not have food, they came without
food, so they have brought us in a place where people can cultivate so
we want to be given food even 4 to 5 gallons so that if one goes to
the garden they can be able to cultivate for at least two to three
days,” he said.
