Yei River officials warned against corrupt practices
The governor of Yei River has warned the state public servants against involvement in corrupt activities.
David Lokonga Moses says corruption will not be ‘tolerated’ in the state. It’s not clear why he cautioned the state officials, but corruption is said to be rampant in South Sudan.
He reiterated the state’s commitment to promote a transparent and accountable governance and efficient service delivery to the people.
“There will be no room or tolerance to any form of corruption,” the governor told the parliamentarians over the weekend.
“The state legislative assembly and the public are to be vigilant in dealing on issues of corruption and corrupt officials in the public or private sectors.”
He also presented a 20 page draft policy documented to the parliament for deliberation.
It contains programs in education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, information, justice and financial management. The parliament is yet to start deliberating on the document.
