Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO has opened
eight legal aid centres free of charge for vulnerable people who
cannot afford tohire a defend lawyer, says Executive Director.
Edmond Yakani says the centres are in Torit, Wau, Yambio, Terekeka,
Yei, Juba and the organization also plans to open another in Tonj.
Some people stay longer in prison because they do not have money to
hire lawyers to defend them, he adds.
Yakani urges people to utilize the centres.
The activist spoke to CRN during a roundtable workshop on the national
legal aid services.
