4 killed, 7 wounded in Torit-Juba road ambush
TORIT (14 Oct.)

At least four government soldiers have been killed while seven others
were wounded after gunmen laid roadside ambush at Ame Junction in
Magwi County in Imatong state.

The attack occurred on Wednesday targeted a military vehicle heading
to Juba. The identity of the group remains unknown as no group has
come out to claim the responsibility for the attack.

A local youth within Torit town on condition of anonymity also
confirmed to Radio Tamazuj that multiple attacks occurred on
government soldiers by unknown gunmen on Thursday near Torit capital.

A source explained the SPLA Military Pickup left Torit town on
Wednesday morning heading to Juba through Magwi County, where it fell
into road Ambush resulting in the death of four soldiers after they
were shot and seven others injured but later were flown to Juba on
Thursday.

Another source also claimed that there was a similar attacked on Torit
to lira Juba road exactly at Olere River just 5 kilometers where the
SPLA camp was attacked by the same unknown gunmen on Wednesday evening
but no details for the attacks.

Emilio Igga, Pageri County Commissioner also confirmed the road attack
but he claimed to have no details over the attack that happened
because it happened at different county of Magw1.

Santo Domic, SPLA deputy spokesperson for Arabic Section denied any
knowledge of the attack on Torit- Juba road, saying he has not
received any information about it.
