May 25, 2017 (JUBA) – Between 25 and 26 May 2017, Yoweri Kaguta
Museveni the President of Uganda, is hosting a meeting aimed at the
reunification of the different factions of the Sudan People’s
Liberation Movement (SPLM).

According to several officials from the different factions of the
fragmented ruling party, the meeting will be held in Kampala and
moderated by the Ugandan leader.

Each faction is represented by the top official in the capacity of the
secretary general and a senior member.

President Salva Kiir’s SPLM faction is represented by its acting
Secretary General Jemma Nunu Kumba, Presidential Advisor Daniel Awet
Akot and military figure Simon Kun Puoch.

The SPLM-IO faction allied to the First Vice President Taban Deng Gai
is represented by a delegation including Dhieu Mathok Diing, Ezekiel
Lol Gatkuoth and Michael Chiangjiek Gaey.

Pagan Amum Okiech, Deng Alor Kuol and Kosti Manibe Ngai are
representing the former political detainees at the meeting. However,
no officials have appeared to represent the armed opposition faction
under the overall leadership of the SPLM in Opposition of the former
First Vice President, Riek Machar.

The agenda of the meeting remains unclear, however, sources with
direct knowledge of the arrangements say the representatives are
responding to the invitations of President Museveni who is responding
to the request of President Salva Kiir to mediate the reunification.

South Africa and Tanzania had already tried to resolve the South
Sudanese crisis through the reunification of the different SPLM
factions, saying the conflict started by an internal rift within it.

The fractured SPLM factions signed reunification agreement in Arusha,
Tanzania on 21 January 2015, but it didn’t help to end the conflict

We, the South citizens welcome any kind of reconciliation meetings
like this one. We also trust Uganda government to conduct these
meetings. Thank you President Museveni for your support. You are ones
of the Africa great leader. Any faction who needs a peace need to
report to Kampala for reunification meeting. Keep it up.

Midit,
The reason why they don’t want Riak is cos he’s a
reformist and a PhD holder. He is smart and can reasonably argue well
with his equals; the other Drs. Lam, Adwok, Cirino, Nyamlel-Wakoson et
al. Semi illiterates like Taban, Makuei, Malong on the other hand fear
change cos they will lose. These unlearned idiots have made the SS
look like a big human zoo. God should’ve not created them at all

SPLM is a curse to South Sudanese since day one. Uganda is doing
its usual business from empty minded people. Dr.Riak should change the
name of SPLA-IO to reflect citizens needs. I don’t Support your party
because of its Name

SPLM is obsolete and need not to be rescue. It ceased
relevance since we succeeded! It only remains as a death carrier since
everyone is vying to be called SPLM.

spla/splm is the greatest problem facing South Sudanese today
if that nonsense is eliminated and deleted in the vocabulary of South
Sudanese politicians, the country will unite and develop in the next
two decades. spla/splm must go.......................

If the meeting is about peace in South Sudan, then it should be
open for any South Sudanese. Isolating other South Sudanese leaders is
just a waste of time.

Jur,
This yet another hopeless move from M7 who has been contracted
by the Kiirminal to stage another intra-SPLM without Riak. M7 is
taking SS as his protectorate and Kiirminal as his protégé. They may
wriggle, shake and dance but all is just bullshit without Riak and his
armed forces. M7 should first talk to Riak.

There should different between Kiir and cohorts hating or fear of
Dr Riek and issue which will bring peace to the country. Kiir keep add
fuel on fire. Isolating Dr Riek is not solution to the problem of
South Sudan, sit with him and iron the difference and work jointly on
road and goal to rescue the country from crises is the only option.
Look when was in Juba situation calm.

It`s a good move Mr President but you should have considered the
SPLM IOs and IGs Principals`s attendances in that reunification and
locks them up in Luzira Prison. They present nothing but a symbol of
uncertainties and suffering to the grieved Poor South Sudanese
citizens period!

Incompetent Kiir and his Uganda mentor are playing with the wild fire.
That dead iniative was in 2014 tried several times but failed in Arusha.
Let’s wait and see if it’s going to materialise.
Viva Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhur-gon.
