WBGS Minister Presents 2013-2014 Financial Budget
Western Bahr el Ghazal State’s (WBGS) Minister of Finance, Trade, Economic Planning and Industry Lilian Rizik Valentino has presented before state parliament the budget for 2013 – 2014 financial year.

WAU, 22 November 2013[Gurtong] - The budget shows an increase from total of SSP166, 396,622 last year to SSP217, 223,125. Last year’s operation cost was SSP19, 992,977 while this year is SSP47, 195291.
The last year capital cost was SSP9571, 841, 841 while this year it is SSP17, 273662. This year’s budget has gone high as for the state to cover shortage of salaries of classified staff.
The minister said the capital was huge so that the state would provide more services to the citizens adding that the increase in operation cost was for the state to complete the remaining incomplete projects.
Rizik said she presented the state budget before the state law makers to deliberate on any amendment..
She called on the state legislators to cooperate with her ministry in terms of deliberating and adjusting the budget line through technical committee formation.
However, the five months’ salary cuts have not been catered for which Rizik said is the national government’s duty to reinstate following the shutdown of oil production.
