JUR RIVER COUNTY COUNCIL TAKES OATH
Thursday, 30 May 2013 14:35 |
The legislative council members of Jur River County in Western Bahr El
Ghazal were sworn in on Monday in the county headquarters.

The ceremony follows the government policies to empower all the people
working under its institutions to boost up development and foster the
spirit of good governance in the state.

Speaking to the council, Wau High Court president John Yel Aleu called
for hard work and unity of the members to execute their duties every
day.

He said it was important to cooperate in work to avoid confusion in
any institution.

Jur River County Commissioner John Arop Apei said the council will
deliberate on the orders and pass by-laws without any faltering in
work.

Mr Arop added that the county authority gave the council full powers
to continue with their work and solve problems that may arise in order
to ensure that things run smoothly.

He called on every member of the council to work efficiently and be
committed to matters regarding development issues in the county to
fulfil the policy of taking the town to people.

The Chairperson of the County Executive Council Goch Deng Goch said he
would continue working hard with the members of the council to ensure
that the needs of the community are addressed in a right manner.

Mr Goch added that his team will work hand in hand with other
authorities to promote faster growth in the county in terms of
development.

He urged the council to work seriously for the welfare of the citizens
in Jur River County.

The county has so far sworn in around 35 members following the
formation on February 23.

The councillors began working from the date of their appointment.
