Government blocks two news websites
Radio Bakhita
Tuesday, July 18, 2017 - 15:43
The Minister of Information says the government has blocked
accessibility of Radio Tamajuz and Sudan Tribune news websites in
South Sudan.
Michael Makuei told Radio Bakhita that the government blocked the two
websites because of their reporting style and failing to adhere to
regulations.
He accuses the websites of inciting violence and spreading hate speech.
The affected websites have not responded to the claims of the government.
But Radio Tamajuz posted a statement on its social media page on
Monday advising its readers to follow their news on social media.
The France-based Sudan Tribune has not responded to the blockade.
