Thank you so much!! I really appreciate sharing your spreadsheets.
The reorganization of teams is SO tough. We started the year with 3 teams of 15. Of course, some kids have dropped, some kids have added. We had 3 partial teams. At our in-person Invitational, we had exactly 15 of those kids who came, so we had to reshuffle a bit, and the directors were awesome to allow "practice tests" in cases where I had more than 2 kids in an event.
Now we are preparing for Regionals, so I just reorganized people into 2 full teams and 1 partial based on participation and performance. Some people have a new event and many have new partners, but we need to cover all of the events to have the best chance to qualify at state. I would love to hear how others reshuffle or organize at the beginning or throughout the season to give everyone the best experience. It is my first year advising and last year the team had only 15 students instead of 45. Having a serious team and a relaxed team makes sense. Do students choose at the beginning of the year?
Thanks! Sara Cupp
