Anthony,

I am posting this to the SPA discussion.  You will have a better chance of IDing the plane there.

SPA pilots, do you recognize this airplane??

Hi All,

I picked this pattern plane up at a swap meet and I’ve been working to make it airworthy again. One thing that would help is if I knew the make and model. My primary concern is that I want to verify that it balances correctly and to do that I need to know the CG.

I originally thought that it might be a Dirty Birdy, but I noticed that the wings are more swept, the canopy isn’t as long, and the engine is mounted on its side. Other helpful information might be that the wingspan is 54.5 inches and it is powered by a .46 2 stroke.

Thanks for any information that you have!

Aaron Avery

Maybe a Phoenix (unknown version) with a mod to add the clear canopy.  Vic K

Maybe it's the color scheme.  But it really looks Blue Angel to me.  Some of pics were stretched it looks like.

Thanks, Duane!!  Knosing your experience with the BA, I figured you'd know if it was, or not.  I forwarded your reply to the NSRCA list.

It’s sure what it looks like to me. The canopy, the fin, the slight wing sweep, and especially the narrow fuselage at the rear looks like the BA.
