I have a NIB Twitty kit.
Be a unique 15 size Dirty Birdy. Be something cute with retracts folding up inside.
About got the motor numbers and probably will be a good fit for a 4S
May put Terry on this project over the winter, he he he

Jamie I just ordered a Sun Fli 4-20 kit from Rob at Balsa Workbench..  Get that Tweety built and me and you can fly a mini expert class next year! Keep me in the loop.. I might put little disappearing gear in mine too.

Jimmy,

I found an original Bridi kit for the Sun Fli 4-20 and built it during covid.  Power is a Super Tigre G20-23 so it is period correct for the plane.  I scored it NIB at Finley’s Hobbies in Wichita about a year before I found the kit.  It is a ton of fun to fly.  Stars were cut for me by John Baxter.  Only problem with the kit was the canopy was yellow and very brittle from age.  I filled it with plaster of Paris and then applied several coats of paint over the canopy, wet sanding between each coat.  I then laid up a mold over the canopy and used the mold to layup the carbon fiber canopy you see on the plane.

Wow, Les. Talk about deja vu all over again. I spent many an hour in Finley’s Hobbies chatting with Jim Finley back in the day. He was definitely one of a kind. He and his wife used to invite everyone out to their country place on New Year’s Day for flying, BS and lots of food. Good memories.

Nice Sun-Fli BTW.

I’d make it by there 2 or 3 times a year. Jim remembered my dad because he was a large man and always wore overalls. Jim’s son(grandson?) runs it now with Jim’s wife but I’m not sure if she is still alive. I haven’t been there for a couple years.

It’s Jim’s grandson Ryan that ruins the store now. I’m not sure about Alma either as I haven’t been there in 4-5 years myself.
