Hello all, happy New Year!
I want to invite you to apply or save the date for an awesome participatory art event I am co-producing in February in collaboration with Gray Area. We've got an
open call for participants going through 1/13, and tickets for the show on 2/24 will be released after the application closes.
Here is the pitch(!) : Art Hack Day (
www.arthackday.net) is an event for hackers whose medium is art and artists whose medium is technology. On February 22–24, 2024, ~40 people will create an art exhibit from scratch on the theme “Dethrone” at the Gray Area / Grand Theater in SF. The weekend ends with the one-night exhibit starting at 7pm on February 24, open to the public.
Gray Area has been kind enough to allow us to make use of their space and inventory for the entire weekend, and I can't wait to see what 40+ artists/hackers and a crack team of volunteers can do with it. If this seems up your alley, we'd love for you to fill out the application by 1/13! Otherwise, tickets for the exhibit opening will be released through the
Gray Area website shortly.
One way or another, I hope I see you there! I attended AHD's last show in SF over a decade ago, and I'm so excited to be bringing the series back to a new community of creators.
Best,
-Rebecca
