Until the sales price, range, less drastic depreciation, economics, and EV technology catch up this is a good move by Ford to use as a gateway towards EV immersion. 

Part electric is better than none. I'm sure many of you will disagree, BUT not everyone is a 1 to 5 percenter like the majority of our group. Most Americans can't afford EV purchases such as this.

I don't think it's a bad idea at all. This is the money quote in that article, "The typical customers will get through nine out of 10 days on electricity alone."

In my opinion, the major lacking in Ford's portfolio is hybrid and BEV versions of the Maverick. Most people don't need a F-150 worth of truck and I expect the Maverick is good enough more than 90% of the time.

I think the Maverick might be a bit larger than my old ( 2000) 4x4 Ranger, but it might just be an illusion, because the Maverick appears to sit a bit higher.  I have not attempted to compare any published dimensions.
