Release of the French official version of RiC-FAD 1.0

Dear RiC community,

Just to let you know that the official French version of RiC-FAD 1.0 has now been added to the ICA resource centre.

You can download it from this page: https://www.ica.org/fr/resource/records-in-contexts-ric/ , and from the page dedicated to RiC-FAD:  https://www.ica.org/fr/reseau-ica/groupes-dexperts/egad/records-in-contexts-fondations-de-la-description-archivistique/ (or from the English and Spanish versions of these pages).

It is also available for download from the RiC-FAD GitHub repository: https://github.com/ICA-EGAD/RiC-FAD/blob/main/current-version/RiC-FAD-1.0_FR.pdf.

This document is the result of work by a group of French-speaking professionals (listed in the preface) whom Jan Krause (member of EGAD) and I assembled and coordinated, and who met numerous times in 2025 to produce it. It has then been validated by the ICA Programme Commission.

The working group has also begun producing the reference French translation of RiC-CM (based on a draft provided by a French service provider, like for RiC-FAD). Work is progressing well; I hope it will be completed around the beginning of 2027.

EGAD sincerely thanks all the members of this group! 

This project also offers the contributors—all highly motivated and active—an opportunity to familiarize themselves with RiC.

There is still a lot of work to be done, so you would be most welcome.

Congratulations to everyone involved.  
I was wondering if a Spanish reference version of RiC-FAD is also being prepared. If so, I would be happy to help with the translation or review, if there is an opportunity to contribute.
