Hi folks,
Last night, the council unanimously voted to pass
the resolve calling for the City of Portland to adopt GPCOG's Vision Zero plan! This is a big win for safer streets and shows the city's commitment to taking action.
In case you missed it, there were a few supporting documents in last week's Sustainability + Transportation committee packet that provide further detail about action:
page 2 of this memo outlines deliverables (such as the Quick Action Plan, Complete Streets Policy, Technical Manual, and Comprehensive Transportation Plan), and
this attachment further details the action plan. We have Assistant City Manager Greg Jordan to thank immensely for the work he's put into getting this across the finish line and making the action items very detailed.
As part of the
updated S+T committee work plan, the committee will be taking up a lot of relevant items in the next few months, with implementation coming back up at their May meeting. We'll definitely be keeping an eye on their meetings and engagement opportunities.
Finally, Councilors Sykes and Bullett shared some great words about PBPAC and our dedication to getting this across the finish line - they begin at 1:02:10 in
last night's recording. Thanks to all who have helped shape our priorities and get this across the finish line!
