
"Expanding southward is huge news for us. There are a lot of destinations in South Portland and Scarborough that we hope to pick up along this route, namely the Downs development, MaineHealth campus in Scarborough, Thornton Heights in South Portland, potentially the VA center over here in Portland,” said Mike Tremblay, the director of transit development for Greater Portland Metro.
Funding for the project will come from the Maine Turnpike Authority, MaineDOT, and the town of Scarborough.
