Hi Everyone,

Many of you have already heard bits and pieces about what I’ve been working on, but I wanted to share an update directly.

Over the last few years, alongside my work with the Archdiocese, I’ve been building my own nonprofit financial operations firm, Chicago Bookkeeping Solutions LLC. We help nonprofits with their behind-the-scenes financial operations that keep them running; things like bookkeeping, donor management, and even helping with grant & audit prep. It has been both exciting and challenging at times, but very rewarding to see it grow.

This year we have been lucky enough to expand into offering limited individual tax prep, along with our standard organizational filings. While adding tax preparation is exciting, the heart of the firm is still about supporting nonprofits and giving them the financial structure they need to focus on their mission.

With the handful of nonprofits we currently support, it’s been remarkable to watch them grow and put more transparent financial practices in place. Seeing them move from disorganized spreadsheets to polished monthly reports for donors and board members has been one of the most rewarding parts of this work.

I should also say how much this has been a team effort at home. Mary Eunice’s encouragement and support have made a huge difference in keeping this going while balancing family life. With Charlie starting PK3 and Lily on the verge of crawling, it’s been a season of change and growth for the Ryans.

If anyone happens to know a nonprofit organization or community group that could use some help in the financial operations area, I’d love it if you passed my name along. Family support and word of mouth make a huge difference!

Here are two quick links that can be shared. The first is for anyone interested in our limited 1040 prep, and the second is our general contact form. One of the great things about working in 2025 is that location is no longer a barrier, allowing us to support organizations anywhere in the country.

Thank you all for the love and support - it means so much to us!

Cheers,

Jeff, Mary Eunice, Charlie & Lily
