Well another year has come and gone and I'd like to keep a tradition alive and sail on NYD. This could be tricky since I don't have a boat in the water at this time.
Is anyone planning on sailing on New Years Day and do they need or like crew?
The weather forecast is for light winds which can be perfect for singlehanding.
Usually sail down to secret beach, have lunch and sail back.
Anyone interested?

Come on out and join your past commodore for my weather permitting annual New Years Day sail!
Start the year by getting your head right, clearing the clutter and sail down to secret beach, tip back a few and cruise back to the sandbar then back to the club.
Anyway, figure on meeting at club 10-11 and go from there.

Well, a few of us put down the twinkies and braved the breezy beautiful weather of new years day 2019.
Thanks to Bobby, Wiltz, Chris M., Aaron & myself for setting a second ball to tie off on when launching.
Special thanks to Wiltz (member of the flying Welendas) for baptizing the hard way!

Chris pitchpoled and sent Wiltz around the front. Actually he started swinging up and was half way up the jib before the boat finally went.
Everyone was ok and they certainly have something to talk about. How many "over 70" do you know that have taken up tightroping? LOL!
I don't think Chris had his hand on the traveler and that was their demise.
Have an awesome 2019,
Dan

Hi dan, thanks for the update, we are still in california, looked at some ocean front property while here, actually nice and warm at the coast, saw some whales and what might have been a GW shark, just a big fin and tail.

sissy line prevents that kind of crew forward lurch and pitch poll.  you guys might try it.

look at our "instructional" videos of kate using sissy line all the time.  kate says you can call it old manly line of sissy does not work :)

have fun
