ORA visualizer freezes program

 I purchased an ORA license after the 2020 Summer Institute. Now I’m finally getting a chance to start working with it.  I uploaded a very small network of 168 nodes and when I try to manipulate through the visualizer, ORA freezes completely. I converted the saved network to a DyNetML file but that didn’t seem to help.

Hi Andrew,

I have been investigating the Mac freeze problem, and a few fixes have been made, though we are still gathering information to reproduce the problem in as many cases as possible.

Would you be able to send a diagnostic log file that ORA outputs? It is located in your user folder and is called ora_startup_log.txt.

This will contain any exceptions thrown by the software and will enable me to further track down the problem.

Here it is Jeff. I also found a potential cause. The last time it froze I was using SnagIt to screenshot a visualization.

Thanks. I see a few items logged, but nothing at the end that would cause the freeze.

Perhaps you have found the culprit with SnagIt.

Does the visualizer always freeze on you, or only when you use SnagIt?

I'll keep testing but, as long as I don't try and use Snagit to screenshot the visualization, it seems stable.

Hello,

I have recently received a message from sales@netanomics with a link and license key to the new version of ORA-PRO (v3.0.9.9.121). However, after installing the new version, I am seeing the message that no license key is installed. I uninstalled and re-installed the software twice using the license key provided, but getting the same error message. Have written to sales, but no reply. At this stage, I can’t use the software at all, so would really appreciate your help with that. I am also wondering how I can update my contact details.
