Hello!

Just a quick reminder about our Advocacy Roundtable meeting this Thursday, April 17th, from 2:00–3:30 PM—this month will be a virtual training. I apologize for late announcement as this month has snuck up on us!

In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, our April Roundtable will feature a collaborative presentation led by myself and Heather Joshua, SANE Program Coordinator at Baylor University Medical Center.

Presentation Overview:

Heather will provide an overview of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs), including their training, role, and the medical forensic exam process. Megan will follow with a discussion on the role of an advocate, how to effectively respond to sexual assault disclosures, and available DARCC services. Join us for this important session focused on strengthening our response to survivors of sexual violence.

Feel free to share this invitation with colleagues who may be interested in joining our growing community of advocates. We’ll continue alternating between virtual trainings and in-person agency tours across Dallas and Tarrant counties each month.
