The actual location of the event will be across the street from the address above.  You will have to ford a creek to access the event.  Thus, the possibility of cancelation due to rain.  If you are not comfortable crossing the creek, you can park across the street and we can transport you to the event site.

We have held this event for many years at this location.   Personally, this is my favorite NRVMC event of the year.  The property owner has been gracious enough to host us and welcome us back every year.

We will meet at 10:00 am and walk through the woods collecting mushrooms.  You do have to walk uphill along a fire road to access flatter terrain.  Afterwards, we will sit down and identify what we have found.  Also, we will have a potluck meal to enjoy while we identify the fungi.  Please do not bring dishes containing foraged mushrooms.   This is for the safety of those attending the event.

Please reply to this post by 8:00 pm August 15th if you intend to attend the event or to cancel if you indicated that you would be attending.  We ask this of you due to the lack of cell service in the area.  We will not be able to get in touch with you.  Please include the number of people that will be included in your group.  Also, there are no dues required to attend this event.

Items to bring with you may include:  Chair, field guides, bug spray, raincoat, baskets/collecting materials, pocket knife, hand lens, camera, food, drink, etc.

Please use another post through the Google Group platform if you want to organize a carpool with others from your area.
