We need to support each other and the communities we serve. Maybe the people in this forum can be constructive, together?

I would love to see this reported on - I just hope Bezos will let it run
now that he is one of the "TechBros" licking Donny's boots.

Sorry, I will delete this if you need me to. I am just so Fing mad at all
of this.

Feel free to pass along to anyone you think might need it:
I am willing to support any Deaf/HoH/DB working in federal gov right now if I can in any way. If they want to connect confidentially with a journalist, the growing federal employee coalition (ie Alt National Parks) or want anything translated pro bono.
Whatever may be needed that I can provide as a hearing interpreter, or if I can liaise/connect them with someone else.
I am on Signal (encrypted secure messaging app) and elsewhere.

Hi all,

I just learned that there are several interpreter agencies that are removing pronouns from all their interpreters. Given that our field probably has a higher percentage of non-binary people than in the general population, this is an affront to our communities. I suspect this is a move to keep federal contracts, but the fact is that the feds are pushing to eliminate ADA requirements from agencies so they are not going to be hiring a lot (if any) interpreters. Such a sad state of affairs.
