I have previously described the Helios64 Network Attached Storage (NAS)
that I purchased. I ran Open Media Vault (OMV) which allowed me to
manage the five drives that I can install in the NAS. OMV addressed my
storage needs but the promise of applications and integrations led me to
Nextcloud. I installed Armbian on an SD card and used the armbian-config
command to install NextcloudPi on the NAS. The default install places
the data directory on the SD card which I want to move to the storage
that the five slots in the NAS provides. I decided to use Logical Volume
Manager (LVM) so I can add/remove drives and shrink/grow volumes. Now
that I have a storage volume that I can mount and present to NextcloudPI
life is good.
I have learned so much in the last month but I also know that I have
much more to learn.

Did you consider btrfs? Very easy to use!

Hello Glenn,
I started with LVM because I have not used btrfs or zfs yet. One
of the reasons I bought the Helios64 NAS was to experiment with
all the things.
