Hi everyone, thanks for joining the new Google Groups site for the Milwaukee Linux Users Group.

Sorry it took so long to get the invites out, but I have been pretty busy the last few weeks.

Anywho.  You probably noticed the the server that was hosting our website and the mailing list was no longer functioning. We discussed the situation among the members that were present at the April meeting and we decided that we should probably host the list in the cloud. Right away, Google Groups came to mind.  Since the mailing list was down, the only way to get the word out was to harvest the '^From:' fields from archived messages.  Using that information, I sent out the invites that I could, but I suspect that not everyone was on the list.  If you know of anyone who may have been lurking on the list, be sure to tell them the new location so they can get signed up.

We still have to decide what to do about the web site.  I am leaning towards setting up some Google Sites pages and following the KISS methodology.  I really am not feeling very creative a the moment and I think it would be a good idea if we could get a few members to collaborate on the new site.  Are there any volunteers?  If you have a Google account, I believe I can allow you edit access to the pages.  Still have to spend some time playing with that.  If someone has any experience with Google Sites, I would be happy to let you have control.
