Hi mates,

I hope you are having a great day!

In other programs like ABAQUS, there are different element types (S4, S8, S4R...) Based on your experience, could you tell me what is the name of the element type used in THERM model? Is there any definition for this element.

Besides, could you tell me how to check the mesh size and change the mesh size in THERMS?

Kind regards,
Mai

Hi Mai.

Therm has no preset building elements (wall, slab etc), if this is what you mean  by "element types (S4, S8 ...)".
Therm has material and boundary conditions libraries, you may personalise.
To control mesh size: Options/Preferences.../in the "Therm File Options" tab you have some controls about "Mesh Control".

Have a great day you too.
Ciao

Hi Ciao,

Thank you very much.
Could you give me information about the finite element in THERM (DOF, nodes, ...)?

I have change that parameters in Mesh control, but there is no change in mesh size. Could you tell me which way to reduce the mesh size in Therm?

Kind regards,
Mai

Hi Mai.

As you can see in the attached images changing "Quad Tree  Mesh Parameter" from 6 to 8 makes a great difference in mesh size.
About the FEM generation please refer to the Therm developers.

Ciao
