Dear all, when I overlay a dxf drawing Therm 7.8.71.0, it does not let me zoom in until I determine the detail.

Dear Mrs Robin, thank you very much for your response. I am very grateful.

I have pasted the dxf file I have imported through the overlay command.

2) Is this second printscreen the maximum I can Zoom in?

My third question is, can I delete the polygon and redraw my building elements on top of the DXF file drawing that has been imported to Therm 7.8?

Best regards,

You should be able to zoom in very far. A quick way to zoom in is to click your right mouse button multiple times and the program will zoom in more and more each time.
You can get the drawing centered back in the drawing space using Ctrl-right mouse key button.

You can definitely delete polygons, and you should see the DXF as an outline on the screen, and you can trace it. If it is properly imported, your cursor should "snap" to the DXF underlay points.

This piece of the THERM manual might help you with some of these issues

Dear Robin, thank you for your time and effort in replying to my query.
I have tried everything but it still does not work, now when I use the underlay command.
Only a line appears. I don't know if it is the cad software that I am using that is giving the problem?

I am using the cad software version bricscad and when I save my dwg file it goes as autocad 2010 ASCII  DXF (*.dxf)

Could you please help me with this.

There are 2 articles about generating DXF files for THERM on our Knowledge Base

I am not sure you will be able to generate the appropriate DXF file from your CAD software if you can't export it to the AutoCAD R12/LT2 format

I realize this is a significant constraint in THERM and we are hoping to update the DXF import functionality this coming year.

Dear Mrs Robin, Thank you very much for your feedback, I truly appreciate it.

I have followed the guidelines of  https://windows.lbl.gov/exporting-sections-or-parts-file-autocad-2000, and it helped, and I got to this point :

1) Saves the drawing in dxf file format ( Autocad Release 12/12 ASCII DXF(*DXF)

2) When I try to daw my polygon it gives me the following error Polygonns cannot overlap , plus again it does not let me zoom in

Please Mrs Robin, can you advise me on what is the best approach in order to resolve the problems I have with Therm.

Pedro,

Can you send us the dxf file that you have problems with? If not, can you draw a simple dxf model and try importing that into THERM? If you get the same problem, can you send us that file?
Also, what is the checking tolerance on this screen:

Simon

Dear Mr Simon & Mrs Robin, thank you for your reply.

The attached file is my dxf file.

I don't understand the question  `what is the checking tolerance on this screen`
