Hi,

I'm forwarding Amei's message about her artist guild, which will have an art show in Golden Gate Park between the Cal Academy and the DeYoung Museum this Sunday.  I'm including three of her images with message and will include two more with a reply. (This is due to Google Groups' posting limits

Cheers,

Brian

Hello friends,

Date: Sunday, April 3
Where: Golden Gate Park, between the De Young and Science Museum, around the fountain
When: 10 am to 4 pm

About our history:
Did you know that our Artists' Guild has been a cherished San Francisco tradition  since 1961? So many  people from the neighborhood as well as visitors from around the world pass by, stop to chat and comment on how much they enjoy these outdoor shows. They enliven the neighborhood and the experience of being here.

I myself have a memory of my first visit to San Francisco as a young artist many years ago. I came across one of  the SF artists outdoor shows. I thought how wonderful this was to be able to show your art to everyone who wonders by in the beautiful city of San Francisco.  I never dreamt that many years later I would be one of them! I'm very grateful for the opportunity.

Many artists have left because they couldn't do the strenuous work anymore of packing your car early Sunday morning, driving to SF, setting up, lugging tables, easels, paintings to the place in the Golden Gate Park that we rent from the San Francisco Arts and Parks. And then staying with our paintings all day long, with sometimes wind or cold days. At the end of the day, do everything in reverse, packing the car, driving home, unpacking at home. We have to be quite dedicated, as some of us might not sell a painting during the show. But there are still a few of us left, to carry on this SF tradition of showing art outdoors, and we have some new members, but the group has gotten smaller and it has become a challenge to pay the sf park fees between a few artists. Feel free to come and support us!

Maybe you want to browse for a very personalized Mother's Day present or just enjoy looking around and saying hi!
All of us artists are there all day and enjoy hearing your comments about our artwork.

I have been painting pastels lately, and oil.

We will set up between the De Young and the Science museum, from 10 to about 4.

Cheers,
Amei

Brian, thank you for forwarding. It’s not really a special occasion, I have a show about once a month, or twice. The landscape I painted at Rockaway Beach in Pacifica. The others are tiny pastel sketches
