A friend of mine sent along an article link of an interview with her PhD thesis advisor on the corona virus.
He has some valuable remarks about its origin, variant versus mutation and his optimism for a vaccine in a shorter time frame.

And don't forget the Chinese are devoting enormous research and monetary resources toward vaccine development.

Imagine the soft power coup if the Chinese developed a safe and effective vaccine and offered it free of patent encumbrance worldwide.
