Pray for me, I just sent an email to the code enforcement agent on my case for my house.  My deadline is September 21st and my house will not be completed by then.

I expect she will give me another 30 days.

This week:

The project manager said that he expects my countertops and sinks to be installed this week.  There was some delay because it took me a little time to pick out the granite that I wanted for my countertops.  There is one kitchen cabinet that will be installed also.

After that they will paint the interior of my home.

He said that things will go pretty fast at that point.

Major things left:

- Fix the doors
- Hook up the electricity (the wiring has been done but the receptacles and switches haven't been installed.)
- Install the Water heater
- Install the garage door and garage door opener
- Install the compressor for the air conditioner

Thank you for your prayers.

(I meant to send this yesterday.)

I have 30 more days.

The contractors were there today when the Code Enforcement Agent showed up which I think helped.

They are installing my kitchen/bathroom counters.  Awesome.

This is so nerve wracking.

God, can I please have my house?!

You can add this to your prayer list.

The contractor has set my move in date to Monday, October 6th, 2025.  (There's no way that can happen.)

I walked through my house this morning.

Here's the current status of what's left to do:

Major Things:

-- Install the AC Unit Outside
-- Install the rest of the electric devices in the house
-- Connect the Electric to the House

(There are many minor things that need to be done)

Then there are two or three inspections that need to be done

-- Energy Compliance
-- Electrical Inspection
-- Mechanical Inspection (AC)
-- Final

I'm not sure if these can be combined.

It's Friday so there's no way that the electricity can be connected and inspected today.

This has been a rollercoaster that I've been on.

I keep repeating Proverbs 3.5 to myself:

King James Bible
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding

And the saying that "God is good all the time"

I'm so thankful for all the help that I have been given by my friends and church family.  I've seen and am seeing the hands and feet of God at work,

Heavenly Father,

I thank you for everything that I am and everything that I have.  I'm very thankful that you are the unchanging God and I can depend on you.

I ask for wisdom for the next two to three weeks.

Help me to constantly remember to trust you and not get upset when I don't understand.

Thank you for listening to my prayer,

In Jesus name, Amen

Thank you,

I was pretty frustrated when the contractor said my move in date was October 6th.  Not that I don't want my house finished but that it was so unrealistic.

Just to mention the big things (that weren't finished and still aren't)

-- Install Fireplace
-- Connect Electricity
-- Install AC Unit (The HVAC is installed)

Not only do these things take time, they also require city inspections.

I had a meeting with the project manager yesterday.  I asked how we came up with this date.  I didn't get an answer.

My goal is to work with my project manager to get my house built the way I want it done so I didn't press.

I have been seeing constant progress since they announced this date so that is good and encouraging.

Part of the rebuild is to install the network cables (needed for security cameras and network devices).  This includes wiring for the alarm system and coax for the antenna

There are alot of frustrating details that I'm dealing with.  For example, I want a smoke detector installed in the garage.  You know, where the fire started.  I purchased the smoke detectors I wanted installed.  7 of them.  3 for the Bedrooms, 2 for the hallway, 1 in the living room and 1 in the garage.  They installed 6 but not the garage.  I left a note on the Smoke Detector and a corresponding one where it goes.  They put it back in the box.  Yesterday I was there with the project manager talking to the electrician (who doesn't speak english or at least not good english).  The electrician was saying, I think, that it is not needed.  The only way the project manager could get through to him was to tell him that the garage is where the fire started.

Isn't it enough that I own the house and I want one in the garage?  (I'm rolling my eyes right now.  LOL)

This is just one story of so many that are going on at the same time.

Oh man! That is rough. My best friend (Sidnye)'s parent's house caught fire in the garage last aug and they just got their keys last week. It is crazy how long this can take and how much stuff can get forgotten along the way if you don't stay on it. I am happy to see it coming along has far as it has, Hopefully they will have you in there before too much longer.
