Greetings to all fellow Nonsuch owners!  Its nice to be posting finally as an owner!

We recently purchased NS30 Hull # 300, and have spent the last 3 weeks sailing her back to our home port for now of Wareham, MA, and getting to know her along the way.  We've learned lots of things already, and look forward to learning more in the future.

After lots of thought, we have changed her name from Un Bel Di to Southpaw. She will be residing in Florida (hence the South part of the name), and we look forward to exploring the Florida Keys and other places over the upcoming winters.

A big thank you to John and Marian for taking such good care of he as her previous owners; we promise that we will continue the tradition of caring for and preserving her, as you have done.

The INA seems like a great organization, and we look forward to meeting other owners, either through this message board, or perhaps even in person.

Congrats Stave and Paula and welcome to the Nonsuch family!
My Nonsuch and yours are practically cousins as Aloki is hull #329. We keep Aloki in Oyster Bay and if you pass this way, drop a line. We can offer local knowledge and assistance.

As Southpaw will dock in southern waters, maybe we can impose on you to keep a sailing blog of your trip south and onto the keys. It’s something I’ve been thinking about myself. I’m sure many here would enjoy reading of your trip as winter starts to set in up north here. Best of luck, Gary Forster NS 30329/ Oyster Bay NY

Thanks to you all for the replies and the offer to meet up Joe and Gary.  Unfortunately we will be trucking the boat to Florida, not sailing.  We both just retired and had planned a trip down the ICW for this Fall, but we have two new grandchildren and don’t want to spend that much time away.  Our plan is to store the boat in Florida and live aboard/explore for 2-3 months every winter. Still should be a great adventure!

Steve Mueller,
I wish you well, you have a beautiful boat and still retain your brain.
You will need to find a partner for ‘Southpaw’ before you can leave her down there alone and sail 3 months a year.
