I got to 5th St market a few minutes after 9 and no one was there Did the ride alone to Diamond Hill then to Harrisburg and only saw 2 riders on the road not sure if they were doing the Polar Bear ride. Has this traditional ride died?

Larry Diffie <whats...@msn.com>: Jan 01 08:54AM -0800 Well Good Morning and Happy New Year to all you Midnight Revelers, and to those, like me, who's only noise making sounded like a snore!   In case you wanted to plan to ride on Ted's Ride to Walterville, Out & Back tomorrow, when you go do sign up, it is listed being on January 26th - oops, that should be January 2nd, so do not let that deter you from signing up.........Mike will get that corrected soon. There is some speculation that there could be rain, imagine that; however, if there is, depending on the report you check, it may not be heavy until after 12 (noon). Ted will flex the ride if/as necessary.   We will have some Polar Bear Riders out there this morning - I bet they will be thinking, "this must be what it's like to ride in Hawaii this time of year!" It will not be a typical Polar Bear ride for here this year! Enjoy!   I wish you all a year of health, safety, lots of cycling and activities, and the ability to get a little closer to families, loved ones and friends!   Peace, Larry

There was a very small turnout, probably due to COVID. About 10 of us did the ride and I don’t think we left until 9:10 or 9:15 so I’m surprised you missed us. We went Bottom Loop and up to Bowers and came back on N Coburg. We saw a few other riders out there, but our main group ended up with just 6 or 7. So we kept the ride alive and hopefully next year it’s back to normal. Ironic that it was the best weather I ever remember for Jan 1 ride. 

Sorry we missed you.
