The Daffodil ride was my very first GEARs ride and it’s a great route. Because it’s such a popular ride among our members, I want to point out that none of our 16+ ride leaders currently have volunteered to lead.
If you normally ride 16+, please consider volunteering to lead rather than signing up for the 13–15 group. When faster riders fill those spots it takes space from riders who actually ride that pace, can unintentionally increase the overall speed of the group, and sometimes leads to smaller groups taking off from the front without a clear leader. That can make it harder to maintain the intended pace and reduces rider accountability and can impact rider experience for new comers.
As the weather improves and more people come out to ride, signing up for the pace you truly intend to ride helps keep groups balanced and ensures everyone has the experience they expect.
