We had outstanding participation. Helen Bryant as General Evaluator, and Asmaa Hammad as Ah Counter did a great job adapting as first-timers in these roles. Linda Rudd gave a persuasive influence speech titled “Glace Your Conversation”. Linda spoke about using the acronym GLACE; to G-Listen, Acknowledge, Connect, and Evaluate to engage feelings in a conversation. During the table topics session led by Nishu Kurup, speakers shared noteworthy stories about moving forward. One speaker is motivated by pain and people. Another speaker made the painful decision to end relationships to avoid being a crutch. Writing down goals to overcome impediment; and having balance in life by adjusting plans and adapting to changing situations was instilled upon us by the final speakers.
JohnRich Levine as Grammarian, gave a brief lesson on the use of intensifier words such as: really, very, and pretty. He said these are good words, however, using words that quantify is better. JohnRich will be representing our club in the Humorous Speech contest this Saturday, March 20th. Please register for this event and show your support for our fellow Toastmaster.
