Recap - Toastmasters February 27, 2021 Meeting

Good Evening Toastmasters,

I would like to extend a warm welcome our new member Asmaa Hammad! 

Last Saturday’s meeting theme, “Ice to Meet You” was pretty cool. 😊  The meeting was called to order by our President, Nishu Kurup and our Toastmaster, Debika Bhattacharya kept a great flow to the meeting.  In reference to the recent winter storm, Debika told us when it comes to tragedy, to focus on the positive and use it as a learning experience.   We heard a humorous speech from JohnRich Levine titled “Successful Dressing”.  It was a revised version of his speech “A Towel Around My Waist”.   He spoke about an embarrassing moment, and expressed, “Everything happens for a purpose and to use it to your greatest  advantage".  JohnRich will be representing our club as a humorous speech contestant in the Area Contest March 20, 2021!  The Table Topics session was led by Linh Nguyen.  Speakers talked about how they managed during the winter storm; one speaker if given the choice, would choose water over power.  We also heard a touching story of a neighbor helping neighbor; one speaker’s silver lining amidst the storm; and what would another  incline to do differently.

Thank you to our guests Sharla Ozen (Division Director), Cassie Brandley (Area Director), and David Brackus who as of March 1^st is an official member! 

 

Due to the changes caused by the weather, there will be one meeting this month.  Our next meeting will be March 13^th, 2021.

Joethelia,  I thoroughly enjoy reading the recap on the meeting! What an extraordinary example  of the secretary role you provide for all of us! Thank you!

 One Note...  We may actually be participating in a meeting on the 27th . It, I believe is tentative ~
