Hi Community Wealth Builders!

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. I know I've been making the most of semi-temperate summer days.

Writing us a quick reminder that we will convene tomorrow evening, 6 PM at MLK Library in Conference Room 401-A, to begin drafting agenda proposals for each of the two days of our Community Wealth Building Day event. That is, the Strategy Work Session and Co-op Fair, respectively.

This will be a super important meeting! If you have expressed interest in supporting a sub-committee planning either day, please try to prioritize attending. Otherwise, do let me know if you are unable to make it.

Thanks again for everyone's work on this so far. It is deeply appreciated.

Best,

Abi

Abi,
I regret that I have a unique conflict that will not allow me to attend tonight's in-person CWB event planning session. But I do want to contribute my energy, so please keep me in the loop. Thx!

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much to everyone able to attend our work session yesterday, especially with so much going on in our city right now.

Here are some quick updates and invitations for folks. There are a couple opportunities to tap in, so please read through.

  • We began drafting agenda proposals for each day of the event. The proposal for the Sunday, Oct 26th Coop Fair is nearly complete! Folks are going to visit Edgewood Farm this Sunday to scope out the location. Email Sam for more details about that if you'd like to join. Meanwhile, the proposal for the Saturday, Oct 25th Work Session still needs some work, but Sam and I are planning to meet next Monday to flesh that out. Email me if you are interested in contributing to that!
  • We also discussed our Outreach Plans, for which we are building the foundation now. Again, please take 5 minutes today to fill out this spreadsheet with contact info for folks we think should join either day of the event.
  • Relatedly, this Friday at 10 AM, folks will meet virtually to work on outreach/comms-related needs, including graphics for each day of the event, sign up forms, social media, etc. If you have graphic or comms expertise or interest, please join that group! Let me or Sam know if you would like to be added to that calendar event.
Things are really moving folks! I'm excited. Especially at a time like this, I'm grateful for opportunities to build generative things that will strengthen our communities regardless of what we are up against.

I hope everyone can take care and please be in touch about any of the above opportunities.

Best,

Abi

Yay! Excited for y'all to come visit the farm this coming Sunday. Sam and I will both be there for the ReDelicious food distro (which happens around 3-5PM).

Warmly,
Bri
